An update on the progress EDC committees are making on populating the Southwest California Portal of the Connectory.Category: News & General Info Published: Friday, June 18, 2010 The Connectory.com™ is a database containing detailed capabilities profiles of US industrial and technology companies across all industries at every level of the supply chain. The goal is to link United States businesses to each other and to provide information about the industrial and technology base of the economy. It also includes profiles of other critical assets in addition to companies including federal labs, university and private research centers. Tuesday, June 15th, 10 members of the EDC Resource Team travelled to El Cajon and met with the staff of the San Diego East County EDC to train on how to use and navigate our backend access to the Connectory website. Included were myself , Nancy Obenberger, Suzanne Lingold, Cathy Barrozo, Lalli Guerriero, Phyllis Risner, Tim Thorson, Nori Shaughn, Jessica Ross and Vicki Ashmore. The day was dedicated to training the trainers. These trainers are ready to share what they've learned with volunteers and interns that are going to staff a temporary Call Center the EDC and Mt. San Jacinto College are implementing at the Temecula Campus July 6th through 29th. An EDC Technology Group subcommittee met Wednesday, June 16th, to discuss Tuesday's training and to make sure that the Call Center at MSJC is going to be set up the way it needs to be. Based on the training, some changes were made to the Call Center and a plan has been mapped out of how operations will be conducted, how the schedule for manning the center will be created, and what the final goal to be achieved at the call center will be. It has been decided that the goal is to create a minimum 500 profiles during the time the Call Center is operating. Each profile can take up to an hour to create….so it is an attainable goal without it being too aggressive.
